Eco-Friendly Group Cleans up Beaches of Kenya and Turns Discarded Flip-Flops Into Colorful Works of Art

Beach cleanup efforts around the world are all commendable; however, we rarely get to see what actually happens to the trash that’s been collected. It's even rarer for gathered waste to be turned into art. One company called Ocean Sole hosts clean ups to pick up trash on the beaches and waterways of Kenya to combat the amount to flip-flops that are discarded in them every year.

Realistically Carved Octopus Joins Together Two Pianos To Form One Surreal Sculpture

Artist Maskull Lasserre has transformed two pianos into one sculpture in this thrilling piece titled The Third Octave. Joined together by the tentacles of a realistically carved octopus, the work is a testament to the artist's willingness to take risks in order to see surprising outcomes. It took about 2,000 hours to complete the work, with Lasserre never quite sure of the final outcome.

25th Annual ‘Sculpture by the Sea’ Brings 100 Artworks to Australian Coast

Once a year, part of the Australian coastline is transformed into an outdoor museum during the Sculpture by the Sea festival. For the 25th edition, over 100 works made by artists from across the globe were installed along the sandy shores, inviting visitors to gaze at art while enjoying the beach. The Sculpture by the Sea festival is the largest sculpture exhibition in the world, attracting more than 500,000 visitors during its three-week exhibition.
